My first detailed post from my trip to India is reserved for my favourite outing… a visit to Sanchi, a World Heritage Site. The only other Heritage sites I had been to are ones in London and our very own Nelson’s Dockyard in Antigua.
Bhopal is a beautiful city with amazing scenery and is said to be one of India’s greenest cities. Bhopal is also home to 10 lakes and is aptly tagged as “The City of Lakes”. In this post, I’ll recap with words and images my picture perfect day trip to Bhopal’s Upper Lake.
Back in 2022, I secured an amazing Scholarship opportunity from the Indian Government to spend two weeks in the country learning about Women Empowerment, Policy and Vocational Training. I had the most amazing time and met amazing women who I still keep in touch with to this day. This post is an introduction, obviously, but over a series of post I will be unpacking how I spent my life changing two weeks in India
How Long Has It Been? Too Long! The last time I published anything on this blog was three years ago and in that time so much about me has changed. I feel as though I’ve let this Cotton Tree grow unwatered. I suppose I should take this as an opportunity to reacquaint myself with this space and reintroduce myself. It truly has been awhile.
A lot of toxic behaviours in relationships are deeply rooted in patriarchal thinking. The sense of entitlement men develop in these relationships as well as the desire to take more than necessary from men acting on the “instinct” to provide. Patriarchy has tipped the advantaged far into the male corner certainly but women also use the patriarchy and have developed “trash” tendencies because of it. Men and women are both toxic and “trash” and this has led to a very unhealthy relationship dynamic.
University is like learning to walk, everything takes time, dedication, support, guidance, and of course the first step. University teaches not only the degree work, but valuable life lessons, some of which i've started to grasp even after a short 2 weeks. Here I ramble about what i think i've learned and how awesome i know University is going to be
I've been having exams, so it's been awhile since I've posted. But this month made me 18. I am greatful for 18 years of life, love, and learning. I am thankful for the journey i'm on and the choices I've made so far along the road. Sure i've made mistakes, but every mistake is a learning experience. I'm extremely greatful for my supportive group of friends. I am thankful for my inner circle those 5 beautiful persons who have latched on to me and have helped in some way or another to nurture my talent. They've stuck with me through the rough patches and for that I'm grateful.
I'm greatful that I'm growing in grace. Never did i think that I'd grow into such a person. I've been told that I inspire and i hope to continue doing that. I'm greatful for my talents, especially photography which has opened so many avenues for me and allowed me to meet such inspirational characters. All the things I've accomplished could not be possible without God.
I am greatful for another chance for another year. Thank God for all he continues to do and for his continued work on me and through me. I've now opened the book of adulthood, i hope the upcoming chapters are just as exciting as the last.

Two Thousand and Fourteen was a really great year. I have no queries or regrets about it and I can say that i really enjoyed the experiences it offered. However, 2014 is over and it's 2015. It's time to start fresh, take out a new paper, and get ready for the unknown road ahead. I hope that this year is a year that brings great things for my readers, and i hope this year sees lots of new growth with this Blog. It's been a journey and I'm ready to see what 2015 has to offer. This isn't really a long ramble... so this is all i really have to say.
